Welcome to the PRAXIS Society for Human Integrity! We hope you find that spending time in our web-based “home” is an enjoyable experience, one that could even add to your life in a positive way.
PRAXIS is a community of people who seek to enhance their lives and the lives of others through greater understanding of personal honor, personal integrity, truthtelling, and the daily practice of those traits. This is not to say that most people do not, as a whole, strive to be honorable and integri-centric. But we believe that over the last several decades, honor and integrity have moved further and further down the list of reasons for living, so far down that we are losing our clarity of purpose, unraveling the critical threads that hold our social and economic fabric in place.
Accordingly, PRAXIS has one over-arching objective: Change Society.
American private industry loses $600 billion annually to fraud, corruption, theft and unethical behaviors. SIX HUNDRED BILLION DOLLARS. An increase of 33% in just six years. If even a portion of this amount could be recovered, it would be an economic stimulus unto itself.
Private industry suffers a loss of 100 million person-hours monthly to unwarranted absences. The IRS estimates an annual loss of $345 billion to tax fraud. Medicare/Medicaid losses are between $85-120 billion each year. Three-quarters of our high school and college students admit to having cheated in school. Over half of American spouses say they have cheated in their marriages. We need only look to Enron, AIG, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Arthur Anderson, Bernard Madoff, et. al to see the devasting effects of the decades of decline in personal integrity. And those are just the headliners.
Behind the headlines are hundreds of thousands of lost jobs, broken relationships, lost friendships, destroyed reputations, broken families, bankruptcies, spiraling debt, depression, substance dependencies, suicides, health issues, and untold impacts on the economy and health care and criminal justice systems.
Amidst all of this, so many have lost the real meaning of success in life, and how to achieve genuine happiness.
Which is why we formed PRAXIS. It is time for real change, meaningful change, lasting change, one life at a time. and so we say again, PRAXIS has one over-arching objective: Change Society.
So, just what is PRAXIS? In short…
PRAXIS is a membership-based organization that empowers people and organizations to achieve maximum life potential by following the PRAXIS W
ay – living daily with integrity and genuine honor. The PRAXIS Way is not New Age spiritualism, a new religion, or an idiosynchratic philosophy. It is instead a key to true and lasting success and happiness, a common sense way of living, proven over centuries but lost in today’s chaotic world.
By living according to the PRAXIS Way, people may enjoy more rewarding relationships, sustainable and more satisfying careers, more financial stability and growth, and happier lives.
Members are empowered to live happier and more successful lives through the PRAXIS network using online discussion groups, online training courses, personal coaching, small support groups , and teleclasses. PRAXIS connects people, providing integri-centric resources to help when members face difficult ethical choices and decisions. Ultimately, being a member of PRAXIS will have great value in the marketplace as well – we believe that our organization will gain the confidence of employers nationwide, who will look to PRAXIS as a source of integri-centered employees who can be trusted on and off the job.
PRAXIS also offers a consulting service designed to transform organizations dealing with a variety of challenging issues. Organizations that implement the PRAXIS Platform can experience increased productivity, improved employee morale, less shrinkage and greater profitability, better employer-employee relations, fewer legal challenges, increased customer satisfaction and loyalty, higher levels of employee retention, smaller levels of absenteeism, and an increased competitive edge.
PRAXIS does not offer catchy acronymic programs (e.g., the DOIT Method, the GAIN Plan), and our ideas are not new and unique. They are simple, classic, and proven. A century ago, few were unaware of what we call the PRAXIS Way. Today, it is a hidden treasure.
Those who seek success in life without commitment and, at times, hard work, need not apply. The PRAXIS Way is not easy, whether the practioner is an individual or an organization, but its principles are easy to understand. While it requires daily energy, dedication, and a willingness to learn, the rewards are incalculable, and most importantly, sustainable.
At PRAXIS, we welcome everyone, no matter what you believe, where you are in life, or where you’ve been – what you’ve done or left undone. We never ask who you are, only who you want to be. At PRAXIS, everyone who comes into our home can move life ahead with greater power, or begin life again…once you’ve joined our dedicated community of daring adventurers, all that matters is helping you to find the power to live as happy and successful an integri-centric life as possible. But be forewarned, living according to the PRAXIS Way is serious business, and not everyone who wants to join our organization is, to be candid, suited for it. Which is why we pre-screen potential members – to allow them (and us) to determine if the match is a good one.
So, welcome to PRAXIS! Join in our Forum. Absorb and comment on our Blog. Email us if you have any questions. We want your ideas and relish your participation, even if you choose not to apply for membership, and we are glad you took the time to learn a little bit about PRAXIS.
