BENEFITS OF MEMBERSHIP
“Why on earth would I want to get involved in this organization?” you may be asking yourself. To be candid, if you’ve looked over our website, and understand who we are, and what we seek to accomplish, and are still asking that question, then PRAXIS is probably not for you.
While PRAXIS is open to all races, religions, political perspectives, genders/sexual orientations, and yes, even Boston Red Sox fans, there is one requirement that makes membership a significant hurdle for most people – commitment to the PRAXIS Way… daily striving to live a life of integrity, honesty, truth-telling, and putting others first. It may sound simple, but in actuality, there is nothing more difficult in life. Every single day, almost every single hour, a situation can arise either at home or work, that challenges a PRAXIS member’s commitment. Most situations are not clean – often they are difficult and often we make the best choice possible, at times, even poor choices.
Being an truth-telling person of integrity and honor who puts others first runs against the grain of human nature. For most of us, it is counter-intuitive, and requires personal discipline and frequent practice to create the “muscle memory” that makes integrity the first resort when facing life’s challenges.
We cannot go it alone, we cannot sustain it on our own, day after day, year after year…the prevailing culture will weaken our resolve, erode our practice, and we slowly give our self-interest permission to dominate life once again. We need to be in a relationship with others who see the world the same and are doing the same things, supporting each other, learning, sharing, and drawing strength from each other.
In PRAXIS, members learn, share, and grow as they live according to the PRAXIS Way, finding that over time, they can experience deeper, more sustainable rewards, and greater levels of happiness than ever before. If there were no other benefits to joining PRAXIS than these, the commitment would be well worth it.
If, you’ve given us a thorough once over, and are interested in PRAXIS but not sure if you want to join and make a commitment, then you may want to be a SEEKER for awhile – participate in the PRAXIS community and simply check us out. The benefits available to you as a SEEKER are shown below.
If, however, you’re ready to join our ranks and become a Colleague, the benefits and opportunities available to you are listed under JOIN AS COLLEAGUE below.
